Leigh Ann: Hypothesis and Research

Hi Leigh Ann,
While I like your graphics, and your arguments are clear and persuasive, your product ideas are still quite vague. In reading through this post, I was most interested in your tantalizing mention of canning as a possible area of focus. I have always thought that canning should come back into fashion, because it is very economical to put up your own preserves, fruits and other foods, and because there is something very satisfying about achieving self-sufficiency this way. Canning supplies have an aesthetic simplicity to them, but current products seem very out-of-date: I can't imagine many people using the standard Ball jars today, but if there was a way to update that system, it could be very popular at a moment when people are being forced to make do with much less. We need to find product opportunities by addressing the actual conditions we see, and by projecting into the future to guess about what will happen next. While that's especially hare to do at the present moment, the person or company who accurately predicts the future will succeed.
