Hypothesis:
1. By combining unusual products together, it will make people more open and appreciative.
2. Through the interaction of products in space, people will come together and communicate.
3. By finding a language of furniture that fits in different style interiors and lasts, people will not throw away their furniture.

1.
Today many things are expected of you. Today the world is intense with challenges and competition. Therefore people choose to work in fields where they know they will make money. How can a person know what they want, how can they be encouraged to be more open? Today's environment blocks creativity. It is important to realize how different fields; different systems work together and depend on each other. Furthermore there is more than a 9am to 5pm existence at work. There is a world that can be simple, shared and inspired. I want people to combine things to make the relationships in how everything works together and therefore be more open to people.
- Many people don't have the privileged to be exposed to different options, I want to target the people who do and who wants to make money just to have more cars for example.
-I need to talk to those people. I would like to see what products have been done that combine two different ideas and two different unusual products together.

2.
Today moving and traveling is easier; therefore different cultures are coming together. Distances between people in a room can make people comfortable and friendly, it is about finding the right distance. In addition products in space encourages people to act a certain way, it creates a mood and also constrictions. For example, a door, a way in our out, that can be closed or opened. A dinning table for people to sit around, which forces people to pear at one another. Flat surfaces allows people to put things on and angled surfaces not. The space and objects encourages you to act a certain way. Even if people don’t speak the same language, signs communicate. How can people communicate to one another through the interaction of products in space?
-It would impact a number of people. I think I first need to find out where my products should be placed. I want to see in which location, in a house or in a public place, to see where most cultures cross path and in which place it would be most advantageous for the two cultures to communicate.
-I need to focus only on two or three cultures. I need to learn specifics about each culture and their traditions.

3.
People today move homes and changes style of interiors. Style is constantly changing and therefore the furniture is discarded, thrown away because it no longer fits in new style interior. Furniture is bought at cheap prices because consumer knows that they will not use the furniture for a long time. Cheap furniture therefore piles up as waste. People appreciate good craftsmanship and good materials. I want to design furniture that can fit in different style interiors (in a contemporary home just like and old style home) and that allows change and flexibility so that when it is passed on it allows new user to personalize it and make it their own.
- I would like to target the people who throw away furniture.
- I want to look for example at the Frick that used to be a home that kept the environment with the furniture and paintings, it all fits together and people today look at everything when they visit the Frick. The cooper Hewitt used to be a home as well but today it is a museum with new designs and I want to look at how the contemporary furniture fits in this environment as well. In addition i want to get information from the department of sanitation on the furniture that is thrown out. I want to speak to the people who have furniture that has been passed on from generation to generation.
