Green Shoots from Brown Fields
Scientific American article about using brownfields (contaminated land) for clean energy, like wind and solar farms which typically have difficulty getting approval for land use. Complaints for land use can range from disruption of habitat or as in the case of some solar technologies the consumption of water. These issues are less significant on polluted lands with tainted water supplies.
