Monica Bhatia - Mid Review v.1 NOW REVISED!
This weeks active research on my Designed for Fear photo journal on FLICKR
Feedback: Medical journalism is going through a weird phase right now where it is recognized as often not being based on facts, is driven by disease-mongering and several news sources refuse to run these types of stories. It wasn't always like this though, in the past 10 years the reporting on medical scares have been out of control, and are now being recognized as being damaging to peoples well-being. I think this has to do with self-diagnosis (web-MD) and doctors trying to regain some power that has been lost because of this. Health insurance is an ingredient in this, something we don't pay for in full, and allows us to spend someone else's money.
