In Class Assignment: Below is a sketch model of a table and chair set I've been thinking about. If Jackson, N.J. was a table and chair, this would be it, or at least I hope so. It was inspired by the wooded areas that Jackson is largely made up of, and by the people that live there. It is also meant to be high quality, but not too expensive, so that residents of the area can afford it. The glass table top would be supported by turned wooden pieces that extend at different angles from the stretcher. The chair works in a similar way, but without glass.
Feedback from Len: In class Len and I talked about the progress of my thesis. He recommended that I beef up my research and data. I am from the town that my project is focused on, so I have been working on many assumptions. I spoke with the owner of a local company, and plan on interviewing more this weekend. I will also be speaking to residents to see what type of objects they spend money on, and what styles of furniture they favor. My goal is to understand what people from Jackson like and how much they are willing to spend.
