Hi Chelsea, sorry it has taken me so long to respond to this post. Before I talk about that, I just remembered an encounter that I had recently that pertains to your project. I went to Colorado to a conference 2 weeks ago. While I was there, I paid some visits to Denver area schools, where I tested several blind students on a new neighborhood mapping tool. One of the girls who took the test could actually see very well, and it turns out that she had gone recently with her mother, to a city somewhere in China and had stem cell therapy there, which apparently has reversed the condition that was blinding her. So her results on our test were not usable (since she can see!)but it was intereresting to speak with her about that experience. If you want to, you can probably contact her and interview her about your thesis concepts. I am not sure if it would help, but it couldn't hurt (assuming that I can remember how to get in touch with her, and also if she agrees to let me give you her info, since she was a participant in a research project, she is theoretically anonymous).

I looked at your board, and I am pretty worried that, at least in its state when you posted this, it is looking somewhat content-free. Sorry if that sounds harsh, but I had a difficult time knowing what you are proposing to do. But, I don't think that you can do anything about that now (sunday before the review), so I am hoping that you will have an epiphany tomorrow evening that will make it crystal clear to you that, "the way to use product design to help fulfill the promise of stem cell therapies to cure disease is...[insert project description goes here]".

In terms of graphics, your board is excellent, although I question the choice of truncating the font in the large title, "importance".

See you tomorrow,
steven

Hi Steven,

No need to worry- that board was from last week and what seems like centuries! I have made great progress over these 6 days and I hope you find my board compelling and rich in content come tomorrow evening---excited!!!

Thanks,

Chelsea

Oh, good. I figured that was the case. I can't wait to see what you have come up with!

Are you interested in speaking with girl I told you about who had stem cell therapy in China for her blinding condition?
