HS,
I have been thinking a lot about NEST (great name, BTW). I want to speak with you about the design of the actual thing. Right now, you have a great concept, but you need to focus on the actual construction materials and details. Backpacking tents are a very mature area of product design, and there are many very clever and practical methods for creating lightweight portable structures already in use. You have a good idea for how to re-imagine the traditional tent, but it is still very crude in its details and assembly. I recommend looking at existing tents to see how the connections are made, and how assembly is done. Please let me know if you would like more help in doing this. I have a nice tent that I can bring to class next time, so that we can set it up and see how it works. That's crucial for your project, in my opinion.

Thank you so much Steven. I would very much like to look at your tent and see how it works in next class. I understand that the construction part is very crucial for NEST.

OK, HS, I will bring a tent to class, and we can analyze it to see how it is made, and to see what we can learn that might help you as you finalize the details for NEST.
