Yoori,
I am sorry that we were not able to speak yesterday.
Looking at your board – I find it confusing for these reasons:
• You present a title-An unregulated Industry – what does that really mean? Does it mean that all cosmetic products have to abide by stringent FDA standards that will involve identification, thorough testing, published findings and other necessary steps to assure that what can be consumed will be of the highest quality possible?
• You next emphasize “Toxic Ingredients” but do not offer what those banned ingredients are- moreso in the skincare area that you will be working on.
• Meaningless labels – Do you mean that all products that we use have to include all ingredients in use- why is it meaningless?
• Packaging – Why is this part of your discussion? Are you changing the current practice? What does the statement, “Redefining the concept of beauty” (note spelling mistake) mean? You do not elaborate further than this statement???
• Green Movement – I do not understand the 2-following statements especially the second comment –“Immediate outcome: Create a way to regulate cosmetics without laws” ??? This seem to contradict your first premise where you condemn the ‘Unregulated Industry”
Your recipes appear to be a good start but you need to be thorough allowing the DIY participant to know volumes to make based on correct measures. And the picture of the ingredients – are they FDA approved, where are they from? Your selection of ingredients- how is the selection made- based on quality, green sourcing, economics-what?
So – you have serious conflicting signals on your board. You have not articulated the problem clearly and have not explained how DIY studio has resolved the FDA problem. Will DIY studio abide by FDA rules, how? What happens when there are allergies or some other negative reactions- who is responsible? Are there any warnings that DIY will include in its communications with the target users? Do not present statements that you cannot elaborate on.
With regards to refill centers please clarify where this may be and how this plays in with the DIY approach?
Is the above clear - let me know.
-Len
